Scope and Content

The account book appears to relate to Dalton's residue of estate and financial transactions conducted by his executors, presumably relating to outstanding debts and credits. Includes an unrelated note relating to rainfall measurement. Volume may have been begin by Dalton but following his death in July 844 continued by his executors. Compiled by Dalton's executors. Dalton left £8000 as well as six houses. Beneficiaries of his will included Peter Clare Friends' schools at Ackworth and Brookfield, and the Eaglesfield and Blind Bethell school, as well as to other friends and relatives.
