Scope and Content

Francis (1787-1847), was a civil engineer. There are three letters: 1) 17 Feb. 1833, thanks Dalton for a gift of books, and describes his chemical researchers, sends a sample of an iron salt which thinks could be used for medical purposes, but wants to know more about it; 2) 23 Sep 1836 (damaged), sends samples of morphine and acids for experiments; 3) 27 Nov 1837, sends bromine and other chemicals; asks for a copy of a paper by Dalton, praises Daubeny's work on atomic theory [Charles Daubeny was the author of Introduction to the atomic theory (1831)]
