Loose material from Alan Rook, These are my comrades: poems (London: Routledge, 1943), consisting of a letter to Nicholson from Rook, who thanks Nicholson for his letter praising Rook's work; he expresses his pleasure that Nicholson is to take his place in John Hall's book [Selected Poems by Nicholson, John Hall and Keith Douglas, published in 1943, which marked Nicholson's first volume publication as a poet]. Rook hopes to meet Nicholson, and refers to the isolation he sometimes suffers in the army.
Dated at Chelmsford; holograph. Inserted inside front cover.
