Scope and Content

i. 8 April 1845 - Playa-Vicente - Refers to lost letters. Orchids. (Note by W.P. mentions Berkeley and W.J.H.).

ii. 13 July 1845 - Oajaca - Orchids. Cacti. Insects and birds. May be ready October. Further trips in November for ferns, palms and mountain plants. Is sending seeds.

iii. 12 November 1845 - Talca - Collection of orchids, etc. next year. Messages to Mr. Berkeley on his commission about Fungi; Herbarium of plants from neighbouring mountains "Will not be so rich as you and Mr. Brown ... expect."
