Newspaper cuttings relating to D.H. Lawrence, 1913-1982

Scope and Content

The group is divided into several series, reflecting different sources and the interest of different collectors. News cuttings within the series have been extracted from a range of newspaper publications and other sources, and brought together by different collectors. There is a focus on local, Nottinghamshire material and Lawrence's biography. They also reflect changing views on Lawrence and the reception of his work. The cuttings include articles and reviews.

Administrative / Biographical History

This is an artificial group, consisting primarily of newsprint cuttings relating to D.H. Lawrence and his life and works. These were assembled at different times by a variety of people. News cuttings which naturally belong within a larger archive group have not been moved to join the La N group, but can be found in their appropriate context (see e.g. within La Z).

Arrangement

The collection is divided into groups, reflecting different provenance and dates of acquisition.
