Scope and Content

A Book of Hours of the Virgin Mary, written in Italy and illuminated in Florence. The manuscript consists of: the calendar; the hours of the virgin; the hours of the passion; the office for the dead; the penitential psalms with litany; the gradual psalms and the hours of the cross. All according to the use of Rome. 5 or 6 leaves bearing miniatures have been removed. The side of the volume is labelled 'Liturgie De L'eglise Romaine. On Vellum with Painting'.
