The first item is a volume of cuttings, photographs, poems and other notes, possibly including a note written by Addis as a child. The newspaper cuttings, which are arranged in bundles covering ten years, are varied and often of small interest with the exception of a few concerning economic affairs. Of more interest are the volumes of mounted cuttings, 1920-22, possibly made by Addis's daughter Robina, concerning Addis's speeches, his award of the KCMG, retirement as Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) London manager and visit to the Far East and the United States. This series also includes some cuttings on affairs in China dated 1949 and thus added after Addis's death.
