1 Catherine Vaughan Jones of Penmaen, co. Mer., widow. 2. Evan Lewis of Corsygedol [co. Mer.], husbandman, and Sinah Phillips of Pentre, p. Llanelltyd [co. Mer.], spinster. Agreement To Lease (from 25 March 1835) for one year (renewable) a m., warehouse and lands called Llynypenmaen and Penmaenisaf, p. Dolgelley, at an annual rent of £135. Numerous covenants relating to grazing, game rights, and the agricultural use of the land, including the right to 'hem in their cattle and beasts to Ffridd farm and Lleiniau gwynion only when the tide overflows the marsh ...', and they are to keep a boat for passengers to cross the river at Llynypenmaen, under the penalty of £5 per month.
