Television

These records consist of papers relating to the development, management, administration and production of BBC television services and programmes from 1927 onwards (the first television programmes were broadcast in 1936). They include records concerning the overall direction and strategy of television, contributors to programmes, television production processes and the administration of programme making departments.

This sub-fonds is arranged into three sub-sub-fonds; Production Documentation Television (Programmes as Broadcast/Completed and programme scripts), Television Artists and Contributors, and Programmes Television. The records are arranged by file series within each of these sub-sub-fonds. Some administrative record series are not part of one of the sub-sub-fonds. They are arranged directly under the sub-fonds.
