Scope and Content

Comprises:

- typescript of article 'Millais and his public, 1850-60', with annotations;

- Cambridge exam papers, degree certificate and related correspondence;

- 7 published copies of Broadsheet, student arts review newsletter edited by RP;

- Letters from various correspondents kept by RP, many involving his work at the V&A - also includes memorial orders of service for friends;

- Cuttings of RP's letters published in The Times and other periodicals;

- passports, photographs of Albert and Carrie Parkinson (RP's parents), Albert Parkinson's war medal, RP's school reports, baptism record;

- death certificate, posthumous tributes to RP (texts of eulogy and other tributes at his funeral, published obit).

Administrative / Biographical History

(1945-2012), matriculated at Clare, 1965. Noted art historian - an authority on John Constable - Ron Parkinson was Assistant Curator at the V&A for many years.
