Scope and Content

Includes photographs, letters, papers and embroidered cloths which were housed in a bureau in the Master's Lodge, Clare College; also notes for letters on religious topics to Mrs Carnegy

Administrative / Biographical History

(1889-1969), matriculated at Clare in 1907, lived at St Colomba's Rectory, Nairn, Scotland in the 1930s; he gave a fine collection of bird books to the College about 15 years before his death in 1969 and these were deposited in the University Library in 1971. After his death the College received a bequest of silver.

Acquisition Information

Acc 2005-06/16 - Transferred via Roger Greaves, Dean of Clare College, 16 March 2006 following the return of the bureau, in which they had been housed, from the Fitzwilliam Museum.
