  • John Gammon(1815-98) was born at Swingfield near Folkstone, Kent. He was raised as an Anglican and was converted by the Bible Christian preacher Mary Ann Taylor in 1832. He entered the Bible Christian ministry in 1837 and served circuits in London and the South-east for almost fifty years. He was President of Conference in 1859 and 1876 and served as governor of Shebbear College for twelve years from 1873. Source: Beckerlegge
