Administrative / Biographical History

A decision was taken to provide an Information Bureau in St Enoch Square in 1937. It was opened by the Lord Provost in April of the following year and in 1960 moved to George Square. In addition to the staffing of the Bureau itself, the Information Officer was responsible for the production of publicity material and handbooks, with information for tourists and residents.
