Includes department correspondence and administrative papers for MFA (Masters of Fine Art), BA Sculpture and Environmental Art, Painting and Photography along with the external and internal correspondence of William Buchanan (Head of Fine Art Studies 1978/79; 1980/82), Cliff Bowen (Acting Head of Fine Art 1990) and Jack Knox (Head of Drawing and Painting 1981-1990).

Administrative / Biographical History

In 1977 the departments of Drawing and Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking were brought together under a Head of Fine Art, William Buchanan. Notable further developments in Fine Art include the introduction of a Department of Photography in 1971, the establishment in 1985 of the Environmental Art department and the first intake of students onto the MA in Fine Art (MFA) course in 1988.
