Administrative / Biographical History

Up until 1989 the School did not have a designated Exhibitions Officer although the School had a long history of organising a wide range of exhibitions. In 1989 an Exhibitions Organiser and Tours Co-ordinator was appointed funded by the Festival Unit and the Fraser Foundation with the view to mounting a major international exhibition in 1990. From 1991 the post of Exhibitions Officer was funded by GSA Enterprises and the Fraser Foundation. The Exhibitions Department organise exhibitions throughout the School of both students' work and of the work of international artists. The aim of the department is to promote and contribute to the debate on art education and specialist issues and to promote the purpose and work of the School.

Most records which are over 30 years old are available for public consultation. Records which are less than 30 years old can be accessed with the permission of the head of the relevant department of the school.
