Scope and Content

1. Herbert Evans of High Mead, Cardiganshire, esquire.

2. Rees Thomas of the parish of Llangadock, farmer.

LEASE of Ddefadfa - fawr (now in tenure of the said Rees Thomas) in as ample a manner as he now holds and his late father Thomas Thomas deceased formerly held (mineral and timber rights excepted) for the lives of lessee now aged 33, Thomas his son aged 6, and Margaret his daughter aged 4. Rent £35 p.a. and to carry to High Mead in June yearly seven horse loads of coal, each horse load measuring three strikes, in lieu of duties: also lessee is to plant 12 saplings of oak, ash, or elm, yearly and to keep and maintain a dog for lessor if required to do so. Endorsed — The Within named Margaret Thomas the last survivor died 24 September 1866.
