William Motherwell. Copy of an article entitled: Proposal for erecting a Monument to the memory of Sir William Wallace of Elderslie. At the end is written: Glasgow 10 January 1838. The foregoing I copied from a quarto Manuscript Book belonging to James Duncan sometime Bookseller in the Saltmarket, Glasgow, now of Mosesfield near Glasgow and lent to me by Gabriel Neil Editor of Zachary Boyd's Works. There follow details of the contents of the book. Apparently collected by P.A. Ramsay with the intention of writing a life of Motherwell and producing an enlarged edition of his poems
