Administrative / Biographical History

The plans for the new Notre Dame College of Education at Bearsden were commissioned by the Governors in May 1960. The initial request was for a college to accommodate 500 students but this was extended in 1965 for 900 students. The new design provided new accommodation, re-arranged existing accommodation in the buildings under construction & extended the buildings along the line of the original site plan.
