Letter from [Christopher Sawbank] to the Rev. Canon Edward Hicks (1843-1919), bishop of Lincoln, expressing his gratitude for an address given by Hicks on the Transvaal in Manchester Cathedral. He adds that while having no connection to any religious community, he has been longing for leaders in the Churches to act, and hopes Hicks' message will awaken the Christian conscience of the country.
