Holland, politician, at Rotherham [on unconditional support of British soldiers regardless of the political situation]. Scott asks for peace meetings to be held throughout Holland's constituency, but, given his connections with Holland [in his role as a Liberal MP in Manchester], requests that that the [Manchester] Transvaal Committee have nothing to do in the matter, suggesting Charles Roberts, politician, take the lead. Scott condemns the idea of Holland's opinion as representing the Liberal position [on the Boer War], stating it needs to be challenged. There is also reference to Scott's desire to see Lady Carlisle [Rosalind Frances Howard] 'deal with Rotherham'.
