From William Seward in Bristol to his cousin [William Seward?]. He forgot to mention in his last letter that he ‘drew a bill’ on his cousin dated February 24 ten days after date payable to Mr John Edmunds on order for £15.
He heard from Badsey the last two posts – his dear mother is declining. He prays that her inward spiritual self is renewed day by day. Spiritual matters are further discussed.
He has just received a letter from Scipio [Africanus] which ‘I intend to answer underneath and refer you to it, pray pay him 5 s [shillings] and place it to my account'.
His regards should be passed to all his dear friends. He very much wants his cousin to write to him and he should not be deterred by the [cost of] franks as the letters that he sends should be charged to his personal account.
He hears that [Miss] Gracey 'goes on brave, loves society singing etc. I have now a blessed correspondence with Christian friends. Every post brings me news of the increase of Christ’s Kingdom in the hearts of men. My [brother] Edward is a sweet correspondent in the Lord...' Spiritual matters are further discussed.
