Scope and Content

From Roger Seward in Wareham to 'his dear friend and namesake [William Seward].' [See DDSe 32 for confirmation of this identification.] He was grateful for his friend’s letter of the 17th ult. It was particularly pleasing because of the concern that his correspondent has for Roger’s spiritual welfare. A true Christian spirit abounds in both his friend’s letters. Spiritual matters are further discussed in detail.
