Scope and Content

Yellow folder containing a 19-page typed foolscap document. This study assumes 16 blocks of main store, each of 512 words, backed by a drum. Gives program fragments and estimates likely swapping-times for the following algorithms: matrix multiplication; matrix transposition; roots and vectors of a symmetrical matrix by the Jacobi method; cross correlation and partial differential equations; solution of simultaneous equations. It is thought that this document, which represents a step in the evolution of the final Atlas system, was for internal discussion only.
