Robert Hanbury Brown (1916-2002) was a member of University of Manchester department of physics from 1949 to 1963 (as professor of radio astronomy from 1960). He was an important early member of the radio-astronomy group at Jodrell Bank, where he completed igroundreaking work on intensity interferometers.
