James MacMorland (1886-1975) graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MA in 1906 and BD in 1909. During his studies he was a very successful student and won various prizes, including the Recitation Prize, Vacation Essay Prize and the Cleland and Rae-Wilson Gold Medal for Bible Languages (Hebrew) in 1908.
