Scope and Content

This series contains a variety of financial and accounting records including books of original entry, primary documents, cash and banking records, and sales and insurance documents. Sales from exhibitions and picture hire appear in TGA 7043/1/2 and TGA 7043/1/11, however, accounts are also found amongst the exhibition files (TGA 7043/4) and picture hire papers (TGA 7043/15).

Arrangement

The series has been divided into eleven sub-series according to document type, as follows:

TGA 7043/1/1 Annual balance sheets;

TGA 7043/1/2 Cash and sales day books;

TGA 7043/1/3 Salaries books;

TGA 7043/1/4 Invoices;

TGA 7043/1/5 Credit notes;

TGA 7043/1/6 Receipts;

TGA 7043/1/7 Cheques;

TGA 7043/1/8 Paying-in books;

TGA 7043/1/9 Bank statements;

TGA 7043/1/10 Insurance;

TGA 7043/1/11 Sales.

The records are arranged chronologically.
