From early on in its existence the Anglo-Austrian Society worked in partnership with other organisations. Some of the records of these partnerships are integrated into other series, such as the joint relief work schemes involving the organisations Friends of Austria and the International Friendship League in AAS/19, and the education exchange scheme with the Österreichisches Komitee für Internationalen Studentenaustausch (records of the termination of this partnership are in AAS/3/12). The records in this series (AAS/19) concern a variety of partnerships. In some cases (particularly the records in AAS/19/1, the Rehabilition of Asocial Youth in Austria Committee, and AAS/19/2, the Educational Interchange Council), they consist primarily of the records (especially minutes) of the partner organisation itself, rather than AAS own records of their work with others. In such cases these records are nevertheless a constituent part of the AAS archives because the AAS Secretary attended their council meetings or was on their Executive Board. One of the recommendations of the AAS Transitional Committees' meetings in 2001-2002 was that the AAS should work more with similar organisations, which possibility explains the proliferation of records of partnership working from around that time.
