Administrative / Biographical History

The York Diocesan Board of Missions was formally constituted in 1910 for the purpose of focusing the various missionary agencies at work in the diocese. The object of the Board was to foster and promote the support of Missions abroad. In 1925 the name of the Board was changed to the York Diocesan Missionary Council and from 1964 it was known as the York Diocesan Missionary & Ecumenical Council.

The York Diocesan Missionary & Ecumenical Council appears to have closed in c1972. From that date two seperate councils were in operation, the Missionary Council & the Ecumenical Council. Both councils appear to have closed in c1993.
