Scope and Content

The Board held its first meeting on 12 Mar 1964. It took over the undertakings of four District Councils (Connah's Quay U.D.C., Flint U.D.C., Holywell U.D.C. and Holywell R.D.C.), the Hawarden and District Waterworks Co., and that undertaking which had been in the care of the Wales Gas Board since 1947. On 01 Apr 1974 the Board's undertakings became part of the Wesh National Water Development Authority (later known as the Welsh Water Authority).
