Volume contains some description of journey to Mauritius and Madagascar. JS's work in Madagascar as a Missionary Architect. In May 1867 JS returned to Britain and trained as a clergyman at the Spring Hill College, Mosely, near Birmingham. During his time at Spring Hill JS also carried out deputation work for the LMS, (there is a description in this volume). Includes some architectural drawings and correspondence.
