Scope and Content

Volume contains description of Deputation work in England from 1877-1879. In Nov 1879 JS went to Vizagapatam, in the Telegu district of Southern India to work as Principal of the LMS mission High School. Description of journey to India, and mission work carried out. However due to illness the Sibrees returned to England in June 1880. From August 1880-May 1883 JS carried out deputation work in England. Includes discussion of French activities in Madagascar, and political negotiations. Then the Sibrees returned to Mauritius and then to Madagascar where JS was Principal of the LMS College at Antananarivo. Description of missionary work, political situation, relations with the French etc. Includes a resolution on behalf of Miss E I Sibree on her retirement as LMS missionary in Madagascar 1954.
