Scope and Content

The St Asaph Relief Area was under the control of the Flintshire County Council Public Assistance Committee established in 1930 after the Local Government Act 1929 as the successor to St Asaph Poor Law Union. The area was divided into two Districts: Rhyl, and St Asaph. It had a number of roles, including the provision of relief to the poor, payments to old-age pensioners and vaccinations.
