Administrative / Biographical History

Reverend James MacMorland was Ordained and inducted to St. Margaret's, Tollcross by the Presbytery of Glasgow in August 1913 and then moved to Kirkmaiden Parish Church in April 1915 before joining the Royal Army Medical Corp (RAMC) in 1916. On returning from the war, he was translated to Tarbat Parish Church in October 1920. In 1927 he was translated again, to Cowdenbeath, and once more in 1930 to St John's in Glasgow, from where he retired in 1963 after 50 years of service as a Presbyterian minister. MacMorland became the Moderator of Glasgow Presbytery in 1938 and Synod of Clydesdale in 1958.
