Testator willed and bequeathed: to my eldest son, Thomas Stephens, my real and personal estate, he paying out of the same (as I have laid out a very considerable sum in building and improving the estate and have no other means of doing what I believe to be justice by my younger children) £400 in addition to £300 mentioned in my marriage settlement, payable within one year after the dec. of myself and my wife, Susanna Stephens, to my hereafter named younger children; to my eldest daughter, Susanna Watkins, £100; to my daughters, Ann Lewis and Margaret Griffiths, my son, Evan Stephens, my daughter, Hannah Jones, my son, William Stephens, and my daughter, Mary Stephens, £100 each, each share to be divided equally among the survivors in the event of the death of any of my children without issue, but equally between the children in the event of issue; my eldest son, Thomas Stephens, to be executor of my will.
