JC recounts 'As coast defence units are some of the oldest units, going back to sailing times.... they brought with them all their old-fashioned kit they had used when moving anything from ships, guns, etc. You will see in the photograph all the old-fashioned equipment we luckily had brought with us! It really was a work of art erecting it - luckily we had an old Seargent Major who had served in this line before and knew how to put all the pieces together!'
