Scope and Content

great grandfather of the donor, chauffering Dr Morgan [later Mayor of Conwy, 1899] on an electioneering drive campaigning for Lloyd George MP. David Jones, who worked as a bus driver and a fire engine driver in World War I, is reputed not only to have driven the first car in Conwy but also to have been the first to drive around Marine Drive on the Great Orme. The picture is taken just below Conwy Castle. The car has oil side lamps, carbide acetylene front head lamps and pneumatic tyres.
