xxxv. "Achau Tair Sir Gwynedd uwch Conwy". Information about the whereabouts of the original ms. of Lewis Dwnn, the copy of it (p.p. 1-226) at the behest of Thomas Mostyn of Gloddaeth, and the names of the actual copyists, William Hughes and John Davies who seem to have done the work in 1685. Inset is a note by Sir Samuel Meyrick, written on 23 July 1826. For much information anout this ms. see Meyrick's 'Heraldic Visitations of Wales' (1846), Introd. xxix. p.p. 1-226. Copy of Gwynedd pedigrees, at the foot of p. 226 :- "Terfyn llyfr Lewys Dwnn am 3 Sir Gwynedd fal i Coppiwyd ef o'i law ef ei hun". p.p. 227, 229, 232-233, 249, 251, 253-256, 257 - all contain entries by Bishop Humphreys concerning his own family or families connected with the same. Note especially 229 ( Griffith Young) , 252 (references to old rolls and pedigree books).
The remaining entries from p.227 to 296 seem to be in the hand of Chancellor Wynn of Bodewryd, though a consideerable number interspersed are in the script of another, a person very probably doing copying work (Hugh Hughes, his Secretary (cp. 'Penrhos Papers', 390-424) ) for the busy Chancellor (cp. very carefully the entries in 'Penrhos MS'. 3, where the same two scripts are in evidence). These mostly relate to Twrcelyn and Eifionydd families. Under Cesail Gyfarch is entered much information about Bishop humphreys (p.p. 26-275), under Henblas, many notes about Bishop William Lloyd of St. asaph (p.p. 285-288). On p. 288 is written - " A Catalogue of Books, sermons, & other Pieces written by this Good and most Learned Bishop Wm. Lloyd, D.D.", but it was not proceeded with.
