Scope and Content

Four chapters of the Narratives by J.E.B. Barton about Operation Thursday compiled for the official history of the campaign. Tulloch commented on these Narratives during the 1950s. Some basic annotations by Tulloch . Part 5 contains a large fold out annotated map. Part 1 -"Period between the two Expeditions, May 1943 to February 1944 Part 4 -"Fly-in of 77, 111 and 14 Brigades and Operations up to 3rd April 1944 Part 5 -"Harassing of Japanese communications" Part 6 -"Special Force in direct support of C.A.I."

Tulloch did not consider these Narratives as the source of the jaundiced views of Wingate, which Kirby promoted in the second and third volumes of the official history of the war in SE Asia.
