Correspondence file: 1st Air Command

Correspondence with Col. John Alison (1912-2011), a senior US officer in 1st Air Commando, which provided air support for the Chindits. Subjects include his views of Orde Wingate, Joseph Stilwell, Stillwell's relations with Chiang Kai Shek, leading individuals in 1st Air Commando who might be able to assist. Also several letters 23 Aug-17 Oct 1972 from Cortez Enloe (US physician who served in the campaign) discussing the circumstances of Wingate's death. (Enloe [1910-1995] was medical adviser to the Head of SE Asia Command). Contains an issue of the magazine "Male", which includes an article on Merrill's Marauders (US LRP group), and a letter from General William Old 9 Jul 1951 on glider landings.
