Administrative / Biographical History

The Diocesan Church Buildings Appeal was launched in 1955 to raise 150,000 for church buildings in the new housing areas of the diocese (concentrating on York, Scarborough, Humberside, Teesside & Bridlington). Included in the Church Buildings Appeal were the local appeals for Teesside and Humberside, being the areas that required the greatest amount of investment.
