Custodial History

Miles Phillips retained a vast collection of reprints pertaining to subjects which he was researching, written by students and colleagues, or sent to him as a mark of respect by colleagues overseas and at home. In January 2011, a decision was made by the College Archivist and Librarian to remove most of the reprints from the collection in S97, retaining reprints written by major figures mentioned within the collection (such as William Fletcher Shaw, John Munro Kerr and John Chassar Moir), reprints accompanied by correspondence with the author, and all reprints written by Miles Phillips. The remaining reprints were transferred to the College Library, and checked against the Library stock for duplicates, which were then destroyed. The card index compiled by Miles Phillips to a large amount of the reprints has been retained within the collection at S97/12.
