Scope and Content

From Howell Griffith to William Seward. A Christian correspondence on spiritual matters is the 'most joyful thing'. Spiritual matters are discussed in detail. Seward should pray for Griffith, who is the weakest of 'soldiers' fighting on this spiritual battleground. Spiritual matters are further discussed in detail with specific regard to Griffith’s spiritual state. Reference is made to Griffith being a stranger to Seward, except in the spiritual sense.

May the Lord perfect his work in people whose outward behaviour has been reformed. Much is owed to Griffith’s dear friend Howell Harris – may God again send them to these parts and may he preserve [George] Whitefield in his travels by sea and land and 'make him the spiritual father of millions'.
