Scope and Content

From James Edwards junior to William Seward. He was pleased to hear that the Lord had protected Seward on his way to London and he thanks God also for the sweet pleasure of Seward’s company 'having the strong assurance that thereby we have been made to feel the life and power of Godliness, so that we had hearts and tongues to praise and set forth the wonderful and eternal mercies of our good Lord...' Spiritual matters are further discussed in detail, with particular regard to Edwards’ sinful state for many years before his conversion.

Edwards states in a postscript that 'it had been strongly confirmed here that the Bishop has suspended Mr Whitefield from preaching for three years'.

His regards should be passed to [Howell] Harris and [John] Syms.
