Scope and Content

Correspondence of William Christie including Letter, 6 September 1966, Wisconsin, sister Mary Dominic to [William] Christie. Includes postcards mainly of works of art and religious buildings. [29]; and Letters [5], September-November 1968, to William Christie. Correspondents are R.J. Charleston, Anthony Symonson and C[harles] Vickers; Correspondence, March 1970 - August 1976, mainly between William Christie and the Squire de Lisle, Gracedieu Park, Leicester. [7 letters]. Also includes notes on letters of Ambrose de Lisle to Bishop Forbes of Brechin, 1858-1869, [See also Brechin Manuscripts Br MS 1/2 (51) and Br MS 1/4/7 for these letters, copy of notes transferred to Br MS 1/4/7], and extracts from a diary (describing visits of Bishop Forbes to Coalville, Leicestershire, 1860 and 1868.
