Scope and Content

LETTER: O. J. Lloyd, The Anglesey Mine Co., Red Wharf Bay, to Mr. Evans, giving details about the company. The Graig Fawr quarry is worked by a Sheffield company, the stone being sent to Sheffield to be made into silicon bricks. The output of the quarry is about 80 tons per week. Silicon is also used for making glass. The Red Wharf kiln produces 10-12 tons per day and is of excellent quality and good for agricultural purposes. The Anglesey limestone is very hard and requires a great heat-good anthracite coal being used. There are several old pot kilns in Anglesey but none working at this date.
