Scope and Content

The diary is illustrated with scenes of Leicester history including Simon de Montfort, Cardinal Wolsey, the town taken by Royalists, a stockinger at work [making hosiery], the first railway excursion, and Abbey Park opened. The copy has been annotated with the appointments of a member of staff, possibly Kenneth Holmes, the Principal at this date.
