Scope and Content

The plaint book gives the name, place of residence and trade of both plaintiff and defendant, brief particulars of the debt or claim for example, 'goods sold and delivered' the amount claimed and court fees. Part of the records of the Thorne County Court.

Administrative / Biographical History

Section 59 of the Act of 1846 required the clerk of the court to keep a register of plaints, by which a suit under the Act was begun.
