Scope and Content

Expresses the hope that Fletcher will receive the proof copy soon and that it will be satisfactory. He states that he believes that the epilogue explaining the reasons for the 'whole thing' was necessary and hopes that Fletcher will be able to pass Ruskin's analysis of chlorite. He states that 'No one will for a moment think the Museum answerable for it.' Ruskin believes that no compliments should be paid to Fletcher in 'this' catalogue, but that he'll have his 'revenge' in his 'grammar of silica'. He then goes on to ask Fletcher about where he takes his axes in a quarttz pyramid. He concludes by asking when Fletcher leaves town.
