Custodial History
This small collection of medieval deeds relating mostly to York, Alne and Penistone was presented to the Institute by Mrs O. M. Bedford in 1971. They had been puchased by her late husband from Godfrey's Bookshop in York; from the ms notes attached to the three medieval deeds it is apparent that these three, at least, were once in the possession of the late Canon J. S. Purvis.
