Letters from Christopher 'Kit' Wood to his mother, 1922

Wood spent most of 1922 travelling extensively in Europe and North Africa with Tony Gandarillas. His health suffered, as he contracted malaria several times. He also grew more disillusioned with the Parisian social scene. His interest in theatre design was first expressed in January. The letter dated 25 February is particularly revealing of Paris and London life. The letters from March to June document Wood's feelings of change, and the peace and sense of direction his travels gave him.
